Pivot is a prototype of a mobile app that I created with two other peers during a hackathon hosted by Columbia University (DevFest). The purpose of Pivot is to provide a platform to specifically undergraduate students who have a change in their fields of study, and help them to start building their portfolios.
This project originally came about because of the struggle that the three of us began to face  as students who were either transitioning from a backend software track to a more front-end design track, or who were not being given the same internship opportunities by companies because of the lack of a portfolio.
Thus, we realized that we wished we had a platform where students who were facing the same problems as us after a "pivot" in our studies could connect with each other. The students would also be able to connect with companies that were willing to provide them with design challenges to give them a stepping stone into their fields of study and also guide them eventually feel more confident in their abilities in the field.

Below is a preview of how the app would look during the sign in and profile set up process for a new user.  (Made using InVision)
Here are some other pages that I designed for the profile set up and profile pages for the user.

Pivot's features include:
- Finding your next side project (portfolio building)
- Finding a team for your side project
- Companies post design challenges
- Mentors provide feedback on work
- User can also post about a project they’re working on/interested in and build a group in that way.
